Before approval

  • Accurate participant name, date of birth, gender, nationality, and school information
  • Parent or guardian contacts, birth certificate, and current passport photo
  • Age-section eligibility and one school, academy, club, or team representation
  • Signed DJC participation declaration before the participant portal can be completed
  • Compliance with the electronic-device, outside-assistance, conduct, and fair-play rules

What is the chess registration fee?

The published early registration rate is KES 2,500 per player. Individual chess entry through DJC is KES 3,000, with placement support where needed.

How many rounds are planned?

The supplied programme sets out six rounds across 10, 11, and 13 December, with a Jamhuri Day rest and excursion day on 12 December.

What competition system is used?

The tournament uses a Swiss System unless organizers announce otherwise, with pairings against players on similar scores where possible.

Which chess rules apply?

Games follow the FIDE Laws of Chess as applicable to junior competition, together with the published DJC chess regulations.
