DJC taekwondo gives junior athletes a professionally managed environment to build skill, discipline, confidence, respect, and competition experience.
Age verification, weight clearance, protective equipment, controlled competition areas, safeguarding, and medical authority place athlete welfare at the centre of every contest.
Registering independently? The individual entry rate is KES 2,000, and DJC will help find a suitable team or entry pathway subject to availability.

- 01Registration & verification
Confirm identity, date of birth, club, event, and supporting records.
- 02Weigh-in
Athletes attend the official weigh-in for final weight-category clearance.
- 03Three rounds
Each round provides 1 minute 30 seconds of sparring.
- 04Winning condition
Two consecutive round wins decide the contest before a third round is needed.
- 05Golden point
A tied match after round three proceeds to a first-valid-score fourth round.

Before approval
- Accurate athlete identity, date of birth, gender, school or club, and contact records
- Age and weight category information with attendance at official weigh-in
- Parent or guardian details, birth certificate, and current passport photo
- Mandatory protective equipment in safe condition and an approved dobok
- Signed DJC participation declaration and compliance with coach, spectator, and safeguarding rules

- A controlled competition floor with restricted athlete and official access
- Designated coaching, warm-up, holding, and spectator areas

What is the taekwondo registration fee?
The team, club, or school rate is KES 1,500 per athlete. Individual taekwondo entry is KES 2,000, with DJC placement support where needed.
How are athletes categorized?
Athletes compete by age and the official weight categories announced by the technical committee, with compulsory weigh-in and verification.
How long is a match?
Each match has three 90-second rounds. Winning two consecutive rounds ends the match; a tied contest moves to a golden-point fourth round.
What equipment is required?
Mandatory protective equipment may include a head guard, body protector, forearm and shin guards, groin protection, mouth guard, gloves, and an approved dobok.
